FreshBooks Integration Is Live: Time and Invoices in the Client Portal

FreshBooks is now a live integration in BluOps. Connect your account and two things change for every client portal.

Time from ClickUp, visible to the client

Hours your team logs against tasks in ClickUp now sync through to the client's portal. They see time accumulating against named work as it happens, rather than reading a summary after the fact.

You control this per client. Some relationships want the detail, some don't — hourly and time-and-materials engagements usually do, fixed-fee retainers often don't. It's a setting, not a policy.

Time visibility runs through the Time Sync add-on ($29/mo), available on any plan.

Invoices where the work is

FreshBooks invoices now appear inside the client's portal, next to the projects and tasks they're billing for. The client opens one place and sees the work, the hours, and the amount together.

That ordering matters more than it sounds. An invoice that arrives in an inbox asks the client to reconcile a number against memory. An invoice sitting beside the work it covers is arithmetic on something they've already been watching.

Setting it up

  1. Open your BluOps settings and connect FreshBooks

  2. Map your FreshBooks clients to your BluOps clients

  3. Choose per client whether time is visible

  4. Invoices appear in the portal automatically from there

Nothing changes in your ClickUp workspace, and nothing changes in how your team logs time.

What's next

QuickBooks and Xero are on the roadmap. Payment collection through Stripe — so clients can pay without leaving the portal — is in progress.

If you're on FreshBooks today, connect it and put one client on it. If you're on QuickBooks or Xero and want to be told when it lands, reply to this and we'll flag you.

See it in the portal — 7 days of full access is $1.
